Tube

Imperial College is close to South Kensington tube station on the Piccadilly and Circle and District tube lines.

  1. From South Kensington station, follow the pedestrian tunnel towards the museums.

  2. Take the exit for the Natural History Museum which is at the end of the tunnel on the left.

  3. Go up the steps.  Turn left onto Exhibition Road.

  4. Imperial College Buildings are on Exhibition Road, Imperial College Road and Prince Consort Road.

  5. Please follow the directions for individual buildings.

  6. The room number and building will be on your workshop booking confirmation.

Parking

Imperial College does not provide car parking facilities.

There are a limited number of pay and display bays on the roads surrounding Imperial.

The bays are heavily used and are charged at £3 per hour between 8.30am and 6.30pm. The maximum stay is four hours (return prohibited within 1 hour).

Access to College Buildings

Blackett / Royals School of Mines / Electrical Engineering / Skempton Building

  • The directions below start from the Natural History Museum exit of the pedestrian tunnel that leads from South Kensington Station.

 

Blackett Building

Building 4 on the map below.

  1. Turn left onto Exhibition Road.

  2. Continue straight, then turn left onto Prince Consort Road.

  3. Continue to the end of Prince Consort Road.

  4. The entrance to the Blackett building is on the left just before you get to Queens’ Gate Road.

Royal School of Mines

Building 6 on map below.

  1. Turn left onto Exhibition Road.

  2. Continue straight, then turn left onto Prince Consort Road.

  3. The Royal School of Mines is on the left and is accessed directly from Prince Consort Road.

Electrical Engineering Building

Building 9 on the map below.

  1. Turn left onto Exhibition Road.

  2. Take a left through the vehicle entrance onto Imperial College Road.

  3. Walk past the Skempton Building and the lawn area until you see the library to the right.

  4. Turn right and walk past the front of the library.

  5. Cut through the Sherfield building which is in front of you as you pass the library.

  6. Exit the Sherfield building.  Turn right and go up the steps, past the shops and bank.

  7. When you reach the large courtyard area at the end, turn left.  The Electrical Engineering Building is on your left.

Skempton Building

  1. Turn left onto Exhibition Road.

  2. Walk through the vehicle entrance onto Imperial College Road.

  3. The Skempton Building is a little way down on the right.
